Joanna is a Senior Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in Cardiff specialising in corporate and shareholder disputes, professional negligence, contentious intellectual property matters and special educational or additional learning needs. Joanna has a broad range of experience in general commercial and civil claims and specialist knowledge of post-completion disputes (principally claims for breach of warranty, restrictive covenants and expert determinations of deferred consideration payments), shareholder disputes, professional negligence (principally against legal or financial advisors), contentious intellectual property matters (including trademark and design right infringement) and special educational or additional learning needs.

Heading up the firm’s Intellectual Property group and Trade Mark prosecution team, Jill specialises in IP and IT disputes. She also heads the Commercial Litigation teams in the South and Wales. Her experience includes contract and commercial disputes, intellectual property disputes including patent infringement, breach of copyright, design infringement, trademark and passing off matters, brand strategy advice and domain name disputes. Jill has extensive experience of international arbitration and cross-border enforcement of intellectual property rights and domain name dispute resolution. Jill also specialises in aviation disputes. Jill advises various clients on breach of confidence, infringement of database rights and breach of restrictive covenant issues relating to ex-employees. She secures the return of confidential information and damages.

Ben is a dual-qualified solicitor and chartered trade mark attorney and advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. Ben focuses on trade mark clearance searching, brand strategy and world-wide trade mark prosecutions as well as dealing with a range of intellectual property disputes and litigation including trade mark, passing off, design right, copyright and breach of confidence disputes. Ben also advises clients on reputation management matters, particular where such disputes involve the internet and more specifically social media. Increasingly Ben’s advice is also sought by employers and employees alike on issues relating to the misuse of confidential information, breaches of restrictive covenants and passing off.

Nicola assists the team on a wide range of intellectual property disputes including trade mark, passing off, design right, copyright and domain name disputes. Nicola also has experience in the filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, watch services and the preparation of cease and desist letters.

Sarah is currently in her first seat within the Commercial Litigation department, assisting the team with a variety of matters. Sarah graduated from Swansea University in 2018 with First Class Honours in Law and Criminology. She went on to study the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University on a part-time basis, achieving a Distinction. Whilst studying her LPC, Sarah also worked in the family department of a regional firm based in South Wales. Sarah joined Blake Morgan as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2021.
