It has given me great pleasure to read the 2023/24 Chair report and to see the fantastic work we are continuing to do in our communities.

During my three-year term as Chair I was, and continue to be, amazed and inspired by our people's commitment to making a difference in our communities, and by their fantastic contribution to the growth and success of the firm. As I pass the ‘baton’ of Chair to Helen, I know that she, too, is committed to continuing the work we do to support our communities, and I have complete confidence in her ability to take the firm forward to new successes.

I would like to thank all my colleagues for their support over the last three years.

I would be remiss to not give a special thanks to Kath Shimmin, my Chair predecessor, for her leadership and the strong, positive culture she has fostered throughout her tenure. Her appointment as the first female chair of Blake Morgan was an historic one for the firm and I feel honoured to be following her example.

I would like to extend my thanks to all my colleagues across Blake Morgan for their incredible work over the last year, which has made creating this report in a concise way a near on impossible task with so much great activity to shout about! It is my privilege as Chair to learn more about our people and the exceptional work they do, and in doing so, it has shown that, like me, my colleagues are proud of who we are and what we do, whether that be for our colleagues, clients or communities.

Welcome to Blake Morgan’s annual Chair report for the 2023/24 financial year.

This is the first Chair’s report I have had the pleasure of publishing since taking over the role in May 2024.

This report is an opportunity to celebrate our firm’s and our colleagues’ commitment to our communities. Community is firmly embedded in our culture at Blake Morgan and we strive to make a difference to the places in which we live and work through volunteering, donations, fundraising, and supporting charitable initiatives, as well as through our environmental commitments and the structures we put in place to support this activity. I hope this report gives you an insight into this.
