Informing and educating
Over the past year we have featured articles on EDI topics ranging from hearing dogs to grief awareness. We celebrated and shared information about events relating to beliefs, health, ethnicity, gender, disability and neurodiversity, LGBT+, family and wellbeing.

Mental health awareness
We celebrated Time to Talk Day 2023 with events across a number of our offices hosted by our our Mental Health First Aiders. The aim was to give people a chance to have a chat about mental health or just to spend some time together.

International Women's Day
For International Women's Day 2023 we hosted a series of lunches in each of our offices, where we discussed this year's theme of "embracing equity". In addition, Jennifer Williamson, a partner in our Private Client team, was a guest speaker at 'Legally Flushed', a networking event to support women in the legal profession.

PRIDE celebrations
Our SCC held special events in each office to celebrate PRIDE last year.

Celebrating diversity

Our SCC (staff consultative committee) has a team in each office who organise a variety of events throughout the year to celebrate diversity.

We also use our intranet to share stories and information to inform and educate our colleagues on topics relating to equality, diversity and inclusion. We have featured some examples of this activity below:

Wellbeing hours

3,475

Faith hours

161

Hours of mental health first aid

206

MyTime wellbeing
Through MyTime, colleagues were able to take leave to enable them to participate in activities which support their personal well-being or to organise well-being activities for others.

MyTime faith
MyTime allowed colleagues to take paid leave during 2022/23 to celebrate a religious or belief-based festival or event that is important to them.

Mental health first aiders
Our team of 27 mental health first aiders provided 206 hours of support to colleagues last year.

Supporting colleagues through the menopause

Working to improve equality, diversity and inclusion

EDI is important to Blake Morgan and runs through everything we are trying to do, including policies, processes, management and day-to-day behaviour. Blake Morgan is the only law firm to be named in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list for 2022/23. To be included in the top 50 organisations in the country is a real statement that we are delivering on our aims and is a tribute to the commitment of all our colleagues.
