Apprenticeship networking events
This year we launched apprenticeship networking events in partnership with local businesses to provide a platform for discussions about the increasing popularity and impact of apprenticeships in Wales. Bringing together apprentices, education providers and businesses including Deloitte and PwC, the events encourage discussion around career routes and are an opportunity to hear about the apprenticeship experience directly from participants. We were also delighted to be named ‘Employer of the Year’ in the 2025 CAVC (Cardiff and Vale College) Apprenticeships Awards in recognition of our commitment to and support of apprenticeships.
Growing Ambitions
Our Growing Ambitions scheme is designed to break down barriers to careers that often seem inaccessible to those without existing connections. It provides an opportunity for students to experience office life, hear about a variety of career paths in law and other professional services, and shadow colleagues to get an insight into a typical day at Blake Morgan. Housing Associations in Oxford and Cardiff nominated students aged 15-18 years to take part in the week-long scheme, which includes time for networking and practical workshops.
Providing apprenticeships
Providing learning and on the job experience in our HR, Property, IT and Facilities functions and training worth over £33,750.
Work experience placements
Providing participants with over 3,000 hours of work experience between 1 May 2024 and 30 April 2025
Social Welfare Solicitors Qualification Fund
By supporting the Social Welfare Solicitors Qualification Fund, Blake Morgan has allowed one person to embark on the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. This will help to keep them in the Social Welfare Legal Sector, advising the most vulnerable members of society.

LEDLET
Blake Morgan’s Cardiff office has supported the Lord Edmund Davies Legal Education Trust (LEDLET) in its mission to provide hands-on experience to young people from Wales aspiring to enter the legal profession, but without connections in the sector to help them. We hosted the first Legal Wales Foundation-LEDLET joint event for summer scheme alumni, bringing together 23 past participants from the scheme, further strengthening the relationship between the two organisations.
our communities
Our apprenticeships and work experience opportunities are designed to help widen access to the legal profession by demonstrating the many routes to and roles in the legal sector. Our programmes and partnerships provide hands-on opportunities for young people who are interested in learning more about what it is like to work in law.
Our MyTime scheme allows colleagues to take time out of their working day to support our communities through volunteering and taking part in other activities which benefit people in our local area and further afield.
MyTime has been used to enable colleagues to take up trustee roles at education, arts and charity institutions, join school boards and provide support for fundraising and community events. From contributing to school activities, collating donations, scoring sports events and organising campaigns, MyTime enables colleagues to contribute directly to their communities in practical and impactful ways. Blake Morgan colleagues also provide pro-bono legal advice throughout the year.
